The service is operated by a team of four office staff and a combination of full time, part time, casual and volunteer drivers. Most people get to know Jane, Julie and Christine as the voices of Community Transport very quickly and regular passengers soon get to know the various drivers.
The service can be used by Heywood residents for a wide variety of purposes:-
- Transport to work
- Access to Social and Leisure activities
- Hospital and Doctors Appointments
It's important to point out that using the service for one service doesn't stop you using the transport for other purposes.
It also helps if passengers are flexible and book in advance. This enables us to match passengers and routes to make the best use of vehicles and drivers and suggest alternatives when people are travelling at peak times.
